Fellows of the Carpathian Science Academy, please find enclosed a series of parcels.
In the first parcel, wrapped in white paper, you will find a copy of my doctoral thesis. An assembly of your faculty declined to recognize its academic merit, stating among other things that its claims were too outlandish and not properly supported. In all likelihood, you should still retain records of the full criticisms leveled at my work. I recommend that you review those records as you continue examining the enclosed.
In the second parcel, wrapped in brown paper, you will find a prototype teleforce projection handgun. Its operation is similar to any handgun of a similar size, and it is functional at a similar range. Although my original experiment failed to produce results in front of the faculty, you are invited to test the capabilities of this device at your leisure, upon any nonmetallic object. You will find that its ability to project lethal kinetic and thermal energy at a distance supports the hypothesis outlined in my original thesis. This specific device may be used for one or two more shots before it is depleted.
In the third parcel, a large black box, you will find a number of previous experiments, cataloging the effects of teleforce projections. Handle with care, as the remains are fragile.
In the fourth parcel, wrapped in blue paper, you will find portions of the schematics for an improved teleforce projection weapon. Construction is under way as I send this message, and the enclosed device is not a miraculous fluke, but the result of inspired science and engineering.
In the fifth parcel, a small red box, you will find a pair of eyeglasses, a brass pocket watch, and a number of coat buttons. During my last encounter with Professor Sterling, he challenged me to produce a working example of my theories. The enclosed items are what remained of him after I provided an example.
In the sixth parcel, wrapped in black paper, are a list of addresses for some of the faculty at the Carpathian Science Academy, so that the news of the other enclosed items may be shared among the professors who mocked my original work.
I leave you now to examine the presented evidence, which I believe speaks for itself. I hope that you will come to the conclusion that it is in your best interests as advocates for scientific advancement to bestow upon me the doctoral degree which has thus far been denied me. Should you decline presently, I am prepared to make my case in person.

Literature
Rain
She was bloated, swollen in her
Own melancholy moisture
Threadbare at her contours
Unravelled into gray woolen
Strings, too loose for her skin
And they drained off her shoulders
To pool in a waxy heap by her
Ivory heel-bones.
She was rounded by opaque
Moons, liquid apricity. The life
In her womb churned, awakening
From quiescence. Her being
Shuddered from the maelstrom within
And in a great wailing cry of woe
Her waters burst in a ferocious
Deluge, catharsis.
She roiled under each contraction
As unearthly poetry thundered from her
Throat, emblazoned with lightning. Her
Child is birthed, swaddled in her failing
Body, decrescendo heart

Make It Count
It’s fourteen steps from the door to the wall. I’ve been counting for an hour. The guard goes to the door, turns on his heel, then I count:
One. Two. Three.
I can’t hide forever. Either he will divert from his path and discover us or the others he’s with will come back. Regardless, anything changes in this situation and we're done.
Four. Five. Six.
His footfalls are sharp; precise. He’s wearing boots and khaki pants and a black shirt, like he’s trying to be military but not quite making it.
Seven. Eight. Nine.
There’s a whimper and I try not to make a sound of my own. The baby I came to rescue i

Forest fairies
The night covers the woods
With its black satin sky
River streams, the moon gleams
Call forth small creatures, shy
Like stars sparkle, far away
Their wings glitter 'mong the mist
Emerging from the oldest trees
Believed not to exist
Sneaking by the silver stream
Deep in the forest's clutch
Only visible in the place
That humans left untouched

Interesting stuff. I enjoyed it!
I feel like there might be a word missing in this sentence: In the fifth parcel, a small red box, you will a pair of eyeglasses,
